Winning the battle against bone loss | LYNDHURST (June 24, 2010) —
One problem we face as we get older is our bones failing. Terms like
osteoporosis and osteopenia are common place. It is never too early to
think about preserving your bone integrity.
Osteoporosis is a name given to a condition that is characterized by
a decrease in bone mineral density or BMD. While there are many
potential causes, the most common is simply aging. It is a condition
that affects both men and women although women are more likely to
experience it as a postmenopausal condition. Recently two major
developments have been uncovered dealing with osteoporosis. Studies
show that genetics play a major role in the development of osteoporosis. Click the READ MORE link below for the complete press release.

14th Annual Giving Tree is a success | LYNDHURST (June 10, 2010) —
The 14th Annual Giving Tree, under the guidance of Janet Ricigliano,
school nurse, was successful. This year 35 families received clothing,
toys, gift cards and food. This is a community effort, bringing
together the Lyndhurst schools (staff and students), private citizens,
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Concerns Committee, the Italian
American Club, AARP, Lyndhurst Police Department, the Ladies Auxiliary
of the American Legion and private businesses — Century 21 Semiao and
Associates and Merwin & Paolazzi Insurance. Without the continued
support of the community, this venture could not come to fruition.
Thank you to all who participated.
