(Feb. 25, 2010) — The Leader of The week: Lyndhurst Historical Society
The Lyndhurst Historical Society’s efforts to keep the Little Red
Schoolhouse an important part of the town’s history was documented last
week by Reporter Jennifer Vazquez. The work of Sylvia Kleff and others
at the Historical Society should inspire us all not only to treasure
the past, but learn from it as well. The lessons of history are on
display at the Little Red Schoolhouse, but those lessons would be lost
forever if it weren’t for the heartfelt preservation of so many
volunteers. Young students today can see what it was like so many years
ago, when the surroundings may have looked different, but the quality
of education was still the same. Kleff and the Historical Society
should be championed for their dedication to our memories.
