Lyndhurst

LYNDHURST — Lincoln School was united with red, white and blue spirit in honor of their local heroes. On Sept. 11, the Lyndhurst school had a very special visit from its very own local hero.

Officer Erik Knudsen is shown with Miss Turowski’s seventh grade class at Lincoln School in Lyndhurst.

Springfield Police Officer and East Rutherford resident Erik Knudsen visited Lincoln School’s students and staff to educate them on the tragedy of Sept. 11. He also informed the school of the daily duties of a real life police officer.

Officer Knudsen spoke to the entire seventh and eighth grades. He engaged the students in conversation regarding the tragedy and allowed them to become involved in his presentation by providing hands-on activities.

The students were excited and receptive to Officer Knudsen’s narratives and demonstrations. On a whole, it was a patriotic and heroic day at Lincoln School.
