BurglaryRUTHERFORD — Kevin Corkin, 19, of Rutherford, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 30 for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana pipe), underage drinking and possession of an open container of alcohol while being underage. Police reported that some time between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., Corkin stole cologne, a 25-piece screwdriver set, personal papers, a Dell laptop ($700), a charger ($7), seven packs of cigarettes and two speakers from a friend’s home in the 100 block of Mountain Way. Police located all of the stolen items in a North Face backpack, which was in Corkin’s possession. Bail was set at $50,000 with a 10-percent option. He was released after posting $5,000 bail.
RUTHERFORD — A 100 block of Prospect Place resident reported that some time between Jan. 30 and Jan. 31, someone stole a white gold bracelet and a 7-inch portable TV worth a total of $340. There were no reported signs of forced entry.
CARLSTADT — A manager of Dunkin’ Donuts at 430 Route 17 North reported Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1:44 a.m. that a black male forced entry through an interior office door and stole $1,500 in cash and a laptop worth $500. Police are reviewing the surveillance video.

LYNDHURST — Carmelo Pluchino, 33, of Rutherford, and Massimo Iuele, 32, of Lyndhurst, were both arrested Sunday, Jan. 24 at 11:33 p.m., following a fireworks incident in the 100 block of Copeland Avenue. Police located the vehicle that left the scene of the incident and conducted a motor-vehicle stop. Pluchino was charged with possession of a prescription drug without a prescription and possession of fireworks. Iuele was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of fireworks. Iuele also had a $400 warrant. Both were released on summonses.
Disorderly conduct
NORTH ARLINGTON — Robert Golak, 40, of North Arlington, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 12:50 p.m. for disorderly conduct, after police reported Golak was highly intoxicated outside of borough hall on Ridge Road. Golak reportedly started to harass workers and citizens coming into the building by yelling, screaming, cursing at people and flailing his arms around. He was asked to leave by police but returned and was eventually arrested. He was transported to Clara Maass Medical Center due to his high level of alcohol intake.
LYNDHURST — Joia Seriale, 29, of Totowa, was arrested Friday, Jan. 29 at 12:50 a.m. for disorderly conduct, after she was escorted out of Whiskey Café at 1050 Wall St. West. Police reported she was yelling and screaming as she was leaving. She was released on summonses.
DWI
RUTHERFORD — Mark Zuccaro, 34, of Valley Stream, N.Y., was arrested Thursday, Jan. 28 at 8:19 a.m. for DWI and careless driving, following a motor-vehicle stop on Route 3 West. Police reported Zuccaro was passed out behind the wheel and was transported to Meadowlands Hospital due to his high level of intoxication. He was later released on summonses.
RUTHERFORD — Joao Pinho, 20, of Kearny, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2:30 a.m. for DWI and failure to keep right, following a motor-vehicle stop on Park Avenue. Police reported that Pinho made an illegal left turn onto Station Square and began driving the wrong way before being stopped. He reportedly failed the field sobriety test and registered a .12 percent on the breath test. He was later released on summonses.
EAST RUTHERFORD — Xiao Huang, 25, of Rutherford, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1:43 a.m. for DWI, after a witness flagged down an officer about a car swerving on Route 17 South. Police reported locating Huang in a parking lot on the corner of Hoboken Road and Enoch Street. He reportedly failed the field sobriety test and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center due to his level of intoxication.
EAST RUTHERFORD — James V. Byrne, 26, of Bronx, N.Y., was arrested Friday, Jan. 22 at 11:48 p.m. for DWI and having an open container of Heineken in a car, following a motor vehicle accident on Locust Lane. He reportedly failed the field sobriety test and registered a .16 percent in the breath test. He was later released on summonses to a responsible party.
EAST RUTHERFORD — Frederick Waldron, 58, of Lodi, was arrested for DWI, careless driving, obstruction of traffic, failure to produce a valid insurance card and failure to produce a valid registration card, following a motor-vehicle stop on Paterson Avenue and Locust Lane. A witness reported Waldron was passed out behind the wheel at a traffic light with the car running and in park. A witness attempted to wake Waldron and he did not respond until she opened the passenger side door. Waldron allegedly woke up and attempted to drive away before being stopped. He failed the field sobriety test and registered a .21 percent on the breath test. He was released on summonses to a responsible party.
Obstruction
NORTH ARLINGTON — On Sunday, Jan. 24 at 11:38 p.m., police reported pulling over a car operating without a muffler on River Road. The driver, Inal Gof, 42, of Passaic, was charged with having a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, being an unlicensed driver and having an overdue inspection sticker. He also had an active traffic warrant out of Elmwood Park for $519. The passenger reportedly gave a fake name, but was later identified as Nadeije Ahearn, 50, of Passaic, who is the owner of the car. The police issued a warrant for her arrest for obstruction of justice and providing false information to police. Ahearn has not been picked up yet and Gof was transported to Elmwood Park.
Shoplifting
LYNDHURST — Marybeth Flores, 44, of Belleville, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 31 at 8:34 a.m. for shoplifting $22 worth of cosmetics from ShopRite at 540 New York Ave. She was released on summonses.
LYNDHURST — Penny Tasker, 37, of Garfield, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 31 at 9:38 p.m. for shoplifting a CD worth $14 from ShopRite at 540 New York Ave. She was released on summonses.
EAST RUTHERFORD — Carlos Briolo, 44, of Paterson, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. for shoplifting 23 boxes of Visine eye drops worth $153 at CVS Pharmacy at 570 Paterson Ave. Bail was set at $1,000 and transported to Bergen County Jail.
EAST RUTHERFORD — The manager at CVS Pharmacy at 570 Paterson Ave. reported Saturday, Jan. 23 at 12:38 p.m. that two black females stole an assortment of drugs worth a total of $1,336.02. Video surveillance is being reviewed.
Theft
LYNDHURST — A 51-year-old Totowa resident reported Sunday, Jan. 31 at 1:50 a.m. that she left her purse on the bar and someone stole it. The purse was later discovered in the men’s bathroom, but her wallet containing money, credit cards, debit cards, driver’s license and such were missing.
LYNDHURST — A 15-year-old Lyndhurst High School student reported Friday, Jan. 29 at 3:10 p.m. that someone stole an iPod Touch ($200) and his wallet out of his unlocked locker.
NORTH ARLINGTON — The owner of a Honda Civic reported that some time between Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 21 at 12 p.m., someone entered her car and stole a Kenwood CD player ($150) and her son’s skateboard ($100), while the vehicle was parked in front of her home on Prospect and Belleville avenues.
LYNDHURST — The owner of a 2008 Pontiac reported Friday, Jan. 29 at 5:07 p.m. that someone entered the car and stole a GPS worth $300, while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of Riverside Avenue.
EAST RUTHERFORD — A McKenzie Avenue resident reported Monday, Feb. 1 at 8:07 a.m. that someone broke the driver’s side window from his 2004 Nissan Xterra and stole a Garmin GPS unit worth $150, while the vehicle was parked in front of his home.
